Dr. Austin Gifford DVM

Austin Gifford, DVM

Primary Pet Care, Mesa Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Austin Gifford is a third generation Arizona native who truly knows and loves this state.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Animal Physiology and Behavior from Arizona State University.  He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University and completed clinical rotations at Iowa State University.

Dr. Gifford is excited to be practicing veterinary medicine back in his hometown.  While engaging in a wide range of services, Dr. Gifford has special interests in dentistry and dermatology.

In addition to caring for pets, Dr. Gifford enjoys being outdoors and exploring the diverse Arizona wilderness with his wife, son and two daughters. In his free time, Dr. Gifford loves trail running and mountain biking. The Gifford family is obsessed with their cat, Mango and their dog, Stitch. Stitch can’t get enough of the warm weather and sunshine!

Bekkie

Practice Manager

Bekkie has worked in the veterinary field since April 2007. A Mesa, AZ native, she calls the city home along with her son, Elijah.

Bekkie shares her space with Daisy, a petite rescue dog, and Reggie, a rescued tortoise. Her love for nature takes her to national parks, mountain ranges, and beaches. Hiking, cooking, and exploration top the list of her favorite hobbies.

Alexis, a native of Arizona, earned her associate’s degree from Pima Medical Institute and obtained her CVT license in 2015.

Currently residing in the East Valley with her husband, Chris, she shares her home with three dogs (Thorin, Gilly, Laramie), two cats (Pippin and Poppy), and a Beta fish named Hollow. Beyond her role at PPC, Alexis dedicates her time to caregiving for her grandmother. During her leisure moments, she embraces the outdoors, exploring new hiking trails and seeking dispersed camping sites. A recent passion includes participating in trail races. Additionally, Alexis enjoys gaming on the Nintendo Switch and indulging in reruns of “The Office.”

Veterinary Technician

Kayla was born in Hawaii and has called Arizona home for most of her life. Driven by a lifelong passion for working with animals, she dedicated much of her college education to pursuing a career in wildlife biology.

A devoted mother to her son Lukas, she shares her life with two charming Great Danes, Kaizer and Kali, and a cat named Diego. She enjoys playing video games, tending to her garden, and delving into true crime documentaries during her leisure moments.

Veterinary Technician

Lindsey first joined the team in January 2022 as an intern technician while finishing her degree at Arizona State University. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science with a major in pre-veterinary medicine in May 2022 and first became a CSR here at Primary Pet Care then transitioned to a technician.

She currently lives in Phoenix with her partner and cat Clover. In her free time, she loves to binge TV, play board games, and spend time with her friends and family.

A native of Arizona, Alexis spent his final year of high school at EVIT, specializing in veterinary assisting. Following graduation, he seamlessly transitioned into a role at Primary Pet Care.

Alexis finds joy in the company of three canine companions—Bebe, Mickey, and Rayo. Beyond his professional life, he cherishes moments with his best friends, immerses himself in music, indulges in video games, and captures the beauty of the sky through his photography. With a charismatic personality, Alexis endears him to everyone he encounters.
